Caring for your bras
Please follow the care labels inside the garments and do not machine wash or tumble dry your bras as this invalidates the return/exchange policy.
How do I wash my bras?
If you follow only one rule in life, let it be this one! Please do not wash your bras in the washing machine. Popping bras in the washing machine may be quick and easy, but will do the following things to your lovely new bra:
Please follow the care labels on the bras & knickers, they are on there for a reason. Even if you put your bras in a lingerie bag or on a "hand wash" setting, this can still damage them and would still invalidate my returns policy.

- Break down the delicate fabric causing tears, holes or rips.
- Damage the underwire - this can get bent, warped and can eventually poke through the casing and dig into you.
- Damage the hook & eyes - these can get caught in the drum of the washing machine and become misshapen & break. Hook and eyes can also catch on delicate lace and may even rip or tear it.
- Wires can break your washing machine - which is a far more expensive problem! If an underwire escapes out of your bra and gets caught, bad things can happen and a washing machine is a much more expensive thing to replace!
- Please don't tumble dry them either - this is equally, if not worse than the washing machine - always hang your bras to air dry. It doesn't take long for them to dry and this means they will keep their shape. Ideally, please drape them over an airer to dry natually.

How should I store my bras?
This may sounds like a silly question, but storing your bras correctly can ensure they look nicer on and last longer for you too!
- Moulded or Padded bras - line them up in your drawer and you can tuck them inside of each other. This will keep them neat and also ensure the moulded cup isn't creased or that the wire is bent. If they are lined up in order, it actually makes it so much quicker to find the bra you want too!
- You can buy clothes/bra organisers which are perfect to help you keep your lingerie drawer nice and tidy.
- With non wired bras, these can be folded. But make sure you give them some love! It's better not to chuck them in, but neatly fold and place in the drawer. I'd advise to do up the hook & eyes so that they don't snag or get caught on any delicate lace.
- If you are feeling very organised and fancy, you can hang your bras. This will ensure they keep their shape and will last longer for you. Try not to hang them from a single strap, as this can stretch it over time.
My new bra feels tight, what do I do and is this normal?
If you've been fitted for a new bra and you have changed size, when you wear your new bra, the band can feel a tad snug compared to what you're used to wearing - I totally get that!
It is very common for ladies to come to me wearing a bra with the band far too loose and the cups too small. To rectify this I usually go down in the band (the number) and then up in the cup size (the letter). It is very common that I will go down a band size or even 2 - for example, someone may be wearing a 38 back, and they are actually more of a 34 back. This is a noticeable change in size and it may feel different to your usual bra.
Please be aware that bras do stretch after some wash & wear. Have you ever bought a pair of shoes and after a full day of wearing them thought, "blimey, they're tighter than I remember in the shop!?" The same can happen with bras. You may need to wear your new bra in like a new pair of shoes, and wash it a few times as well before it softens. They do give quickly (this is why I fit a new bra on the loosest hook, so that when it stretches, you have two more notches to tighten it!) so please don't be automatically put off if it's feeling a little tighter than you are used to. A new bra should be snug (but still wear-able!) so that it supports you properly.
Little tip - if the bra is feeling just that little bit too tight at the start, you can fasten it around something like the back of a chair at night to give it a bit of helping hand.
If your new bra leaves a little bit of a pink mark on your skin, this doesn't mean it's not fitting you properly....socks leave marks around your ankles at times, but this doesn't mean your socks don't fit you! Having firm fabric and elastic against your skin will naturally leave a reminder it's been there - the underband provides 80% of the support to your bust and its working hard all day long! These images below show a NORMAL red mark that you bra may leave on your skin. The last photo is me at the end of the day wearing a really comfortable and good fitting bra. They disppear overnight, just like a sock mark or mark your skinny jeans might leave.
If the bra is leaving extremely deep, chafing red marks or bruising/breaking the skin, this is obviously not ok & the size (or perhaps the style) is not quite right and we can of course sort that out for you. My main concern to ensure you are happy and comfortable in your new bras, so if they don't feel right, please let me know and we can do something about it.
